House of Arts and Culture

Our entry to Beirut's House of Arts and Culture has been released!

MAKE DESIGN proposed to 'Extend the Urban Landscape.' An exhibition ramp spills onto the street, inviting visitors to meandor up through the buildings interactive sculpture, projection art, and music installations. The wood clad main theater is held within the framework of the ramp, structure. The entire building is then wrapped in a mediating glass and stone screen.
The entry facilitates an outdoor ampatheater complete with projection screens, garden, and ample seating.

The North Facade provides a peak in to and out of the theater with in.

A light well at the East Facade lets light filter down into all spaces of the building.

The south facade filters in light for the meandering exhibition garden ramp.

The building is lifted to allow the users a connective entry from the exterior garden to the interior exhibition ramp.  The west Facade acts as a air scoop of the predominent winds.
